There are 2 types of requirements:

1. For the Federal Government requirements (Home Affairs criteria) you must:

• Have an eligible occupation
• Have positive skills assessment (or Registration, Licensing or membership)
• Be nominated by an Australian state or eligible relative
• Be under 45 years of age
• Score a minimum of 65 points
• Have component English level (IELTS 6 | PTE 50)

2. State Requirements
   
   These requirements may vary depending on the state, for instance, some of the states will ask you to live in specific areas, have different years of experience depending on your occupation and even different points depending on the stream that you are applying for.
