Senior Migration Agent
A native of the Netherlands Willem migrated to Australia in 1975. He soon commenced a career in teaching and worked for various Universities including Edith Cowan University, Southern Cross University and Auckland University of Technology as a lecturer/senior lecturer and progressed to program administration including holding positions as Vice-Principal and Principal Executive Officer in domestic and international education.
In 2007 Willem graduated from Australia National University with honours with a Graduate Certificate in Migration Law and Practice. He soon engaged with several law firms including Levitt Robinson Solicitors, Martin Irwin Richards Lawyers and most recently Christopher Levingston & Associates. Responsibilities included providing migration advice, processing of applications and ongoing management of client files and management of a diverse client base.
As a Director of AusVisa Migration Pty Ltd, he has provided IAAAS services to non-citizens and unauthorised maritime arrivals for determination of their refugee status, both on Christmas Island and mainland detention centres and served the Department of Home Affairs via contracted IAAAS providers including Craddock Murray Neumann (Sydney), Vrachness Lawyers (Melbourne), Playfair Visa Services (Sydney) and Australian Migration Options (South Australia).
Willem was a past Immigration Advisor for the Immigration Advisors Authority – New Zealand and a past member of the Law Council of Australia.
Willem’s interest is across the migration spectrum and has a specific interest in complex matters including those before the Administrative Appeals Tribunal as a result of visa cancellations or refusals. He also enjoys working with a diverse client base on all family and work-related visas.
