890-891-892-892 State Sponsored Business Owner & Investor

 

These are different permanent business visas with some particular eligibility conditions to fulfil.

Subclass 890


This visa is intended for holders of Provisional Business Visas (160, 161, 162, 163, 164) who have successfully managed an actively operating business in Australia.

For applicants who hold a qualifying provisional business visa approved before 19 April 2010 and purchased a business in Western Australia before 19 April 2010:

 

  • You have previously owned up to two companies in Western Australia for at least two years, immediately preceding your application.
  • You have spent a total of at least one year in Australia, in those two years
  • Your business or businesses together should have recorded a turnover of at least AUD 300,000 in 12 months immediately preceding your application
  • Your nominated businesses employed the equivalent of at least two full-time employees (Australian citizens or permanent residents)
  • You held net assets in your nominated businesses of at least AUD$100,000;

Throughout the 12 months immediately preceding your application, your total net assets in Western Australia (business and personal) have been at least AUD$250,000.


Subclass 891


The Subclass 891 is intended for people who hold the 162 Investor (Provisional) visa and have held their Designated Investment with the Western Australian Treasury Corporation for at least four years.


To be eligible for registration with the Government of Western Australia, key criteria include:

 

  • Your Designated Investment with the Western Australian Treasury Corporation has been held for at least four years, OR your investment is due to mature within the next three months;
  • In the four years immediately preceding your application, you have spent a total of at least two years in Australia; and
  • You have a genuine and realistic commitment to maintaining a business or investment activity in Western Australia.


Subclass 892

 

This visa is available for:

 

  1. applicants who hold a qualifying provisional business visa approved before 19 April 2010 and purchased/established a business in Western Australia prior to 19 April 2010;
  2. applicants who hold a qualifying provisional business visa and had NOT purchased/established a business in Western Australia prior to 19 April 2010.


State nomination criteria

 

  • You have been resident in Australia for a total of at least 12 months during the last 24 months;
  • You have owned and managed up to two actively trading businesses in Western Australia during the last 24 months
  • Unless the Government of Western Australia has determined that there are exceptional circumstances, your business had a turnover of at least AUD$200,000 during the last 12 months; and

Unless the Government of Western Australia has approved a change to your business proposal, you must have met the conditions of the State Nomination Agreement of your provisional business visa, including:

Total capital transfer to WA
Business investment
Type of business activity
Location of business activity

 

Subclass 893


The Subclass 893 is a State Sponsored Investor Permanent Business Visa. This visa is available to you only if you have previously been a holder of the 165 State Sponsored Investor Visa (Temporary).

Additionally, you must receive state sponsorship support to lodge a valid visa application with the Department of Immigration and Border Protection.

State nomination criteria


The Western Australian State Sponsorship criteria include:

 

  • You are the primary applicant for your 165 visas;
  • You have held your Designated Investment for at least four years OR your investment is due to mature within the next three months;
  • You have been a resident in Western Australia for a total of at least two years during the last four years;
  • You have a genuine and realistic commitment to maintain a business or investment activity in Western Australia; and
  • Unless the Government of Western Australia has approved a change to your business proposal, you must have met the conditions of the State Nomination Agreement of your provisional business visa, including:

 

Total capital transfer to WA
